**** Microfibre filler ("Synthetic Down"), offers 60% more insulation compared to normal fibre of the same mass, and 50% of the pack size and mass of a normal hollofill bag of the same temperature rating.
*** Extra long/extra wide sleeping bags taper down from approx. 95 cm at the top to 75 cm at the foot for increased thermal performance and improved pack size.
** Koala Bare and Scout Bare bags are the only two in the range where 2 bags CANNOT be zipped together. They do however still have full length zips and can be opened up and used as a blanket.
* The temperature ratings listed above reflect the range of temperatures from the temperature at which the average person will be comfortable under normal conditions to the ultimate temperature in which the sleeping bag will be adequate. Each bag will also be comfortable at substantially warmer temperatures by adjusting the bags hood and/or zipper. The above ratings will vary depending upon factors including, individual metabolic rates, food intake, exertion levels, the body temperature of the individual when first entering the bag, and environmental conditions such as wind and humidity. The given ratings assume use of an insulating sleeping pad inside a tent.
                   
GENERAL FEATURES OF THE BAREBAGS RANGE OF HOECHST HOLLOWCORE FIBREFILL SLEEPING BAGS
                   
  • All sleeping bags (except the Scout Bare and the Koala Bare) are manufactured according to the offset quilting system, with double layering of hollow fibre for maximum thermal performance.
  • All sleeping bags have a polyurethane water repellancy coating on the outside material, which is 70 Denier, 210 Threadcount, 100% Ripstop Nylon, and 100% Nylon in the case of the Scout Bare and Koala Bare.
  • All sleeping bags (except the Scout Bare and the Koala Bare) have a dual zipper system - a seperate foot section closure. The seperate zip at the foot end allows the user to unzip only the foot end of the bag if necessary.
  • All 300 g/m2 Cowl sleeping bags have a draft collar to protect the user against cold drafts coming in at the top of the bag. The draft collar can be pulled tight around the neck area for increased insulation.
  • All sleeping bags (including the bags with the dual zipper system) have full length zips which enable all the bags to be opened up and used as blankets/throws.
  • All mummy shaped sleeping bags have a box foot. This enables the users toes to point upwards comfortably.
  • All sleeping bags with baffles have anti-snag tape (webbing) along the entire length of the zip, on both sides, to prevent the zip from catching on the fabric of the sleeping bag.
  • All YKK sliders on the sides are double tab (can be pulled from the inside and the outside of the bag), and a locking mechanism prevents the slider from sliding down unaided when the user is inside the bag.
  • ALL BARE BAGS SLEEPING BAGS HAVE A 100% COTTON INNER. The wicking ("absorbing") effect of 100% cotton on the inside of all bags affords the user to be warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
  • Drawstring closure on all bags by means of drawcord at the top of the bag, secured by 2 cordlocks (one on either side), increase thermal performance.
  • All Bare Bags sleeping bags have hanging tabs on the outside and inside for storage and drying. Liner tabs are sewn on the inside bottom of the bag to attach an inner lining to.
